Robyn Dempsey, Gifted Needlework Artist

Robyn Dempsey turns yarn into wonderful toys, apparel, and afghans 

 Visit Robyn at the raffle table in The Holmstad’s living room. She would love to talk with you about her needlework projects and yours! She has been sewing and knitting for many years, but her favorite craft is crocheting. Once you see her crocheted Nativity Scene including books and music box, you will want to buy raffle tickets to win it. Although it could be given to a child to enjoy at Christmas, the set is also perfect for a tabletop Christmas display. See more about this prize in the Raffle section. 

You can also find some of Robyn’s crocheted toy dinosaurs in the Creative Arts Shop. This is the second year Robyn has helped make the Holmstad Bazaar a success!

Holmstad’s Creative Arts Center is the “Happy Place” for Many Residents

Darlene Miller, Co-chair of the Bazaar’s Creative Arts Shop, is making a fabric book for toddlers.

There are several preschool cloth books with different themes. Here’s another one:

Through August, more than 50 residents create over 300 different items to sell in the Creative Arts Shop. Linda Anderson and Darlene Miller lead this team of residents who are generous with their time and talents to create items that bring joy to others. Linda Anderson shares, “For many residents, the Creative Arts Center is their ‘Happy Place’.”

You’ll find seasonal décor for fall and Christmas, several afghans, children’s toys, toddler fabric books, baby and children’s wear, a variety of adult knitted and crocheted hats, scarves, and gloves.

Holiday Decor & Household Items

Residents have been hard at work preparing holiday decor, cloth shopping bags, cloth-covered notebooks, and other items for you on September 21. Shop from 9 am – 3 pm.
